MBTA Tracker · Last updated: May 5, 2026
MBTA Tracker is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or share any personal information. This policy explains what data the app uses and how it is handled.
MBTA Tracker does not collect any of the following:
The app stores the following data locally on your device only:
This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.
The app makes network requests to the MBTA's public API (mbta.com) to fetch real-time arrival predictions. These requests contain only the route, stop, and direction information needed to retrieve predictions. No personal data is sent.
MBTA Tracker does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. There are no SDKs that collect data in the background.
If you enable arrival alerts, notifications are generated locally on your device based on your configured schedule. No push notification servers or external services are involved.
The lock screen widget accesses your tracked route data via a shared App Group container on your device. This data stays on your device and is used solely to display arrival countdowns.
MBTA Tracker does not collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Since the app collects no data, we do not anticipate significant changes.
