Reddit ThreadPane is a browser extension that lets you read Reddit posts and their comment threads in a resizable side panel directly on Reddit pages. It is designed to improve your reading experience without collecting or selling your personal data.
Reddit ThreadPane does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information about you.
Specifically:
The extension runs entirely in your browser. It reads and renders content already present on Reddit pages (post titles, bodies, and comments) to display them in the side panel. This data never leaves your browser via the extension.
Reddit ThreadPane uses the minimum permissions required for its single purpose:
.json API for the current Reddit post in order to render its comments.
We do not access cookies, form data, passwords, or any other sensitive information.
All requests made by the extension are direct requests from your browser to Reddit’s own servers
to retrieve the post’s .json data, just like your browser would when you open a Reddit post normally.
Reddit ThreadPane does not set or read any cookies, and it does not store personal data in
chrome.storage or other persistent storage locations.
Any UI settings (such as the panel width) may be stored only locally in your browser and are not transmitted to us.
This extension is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this Privacy Policy changes, we will update the “Effective date” at the top of this page. For any material change (for example, if the extension starts collecting data or using new permissions), we will also update the Chrome Web Store listing and, where appropriate, provide an in‑extension notice.
